Terms Of Service
Last updated: September 11, 2026
These terms are between you and Klein Outdoors, LLC, doing business as Depth Vector ("Depth Vector," "we," "our," or "us"). We are based in Minnesota, United States of America. These terms cover the Depth Vector mobile app, depth-vector.com, and related services. By using them, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.
Using Depth Vector
Depth Vector helps you work out lure running depth and line out from the setup and conditions you enter. It does not directly measure your lure. Current, waves, turns, weeds, lure wear, line angle, and equipment calibration can change actual depth.
You are responsible for operating your boat and fishing equipment safely and following applicable boating and fishing rules. Depth Vector is not a navigation, collision avoidance, emergency, or life safety system.
Your License
You receive a personal, limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to use the app for lawful recreational or professional fishing, subject to these terms and the rules of the store where you obtained it.
You may not sell, sublicense, unlawfully copy, disrupt, or attempt unauthorized access to the app or its services. You may not reverse engineer the app except where applicable law permits it. Depth Vector and its licensors retain ownership of the software, design, trademarks, and original content. You retain your rights to the records you create.
Accounts And Saved Records
The app creates a service account when a trial, membership, or optional sharing feature needs online access. A verified recovery email is required before store subscriptions are available. Keep your account access secure and use a recovery email you control.
Saved rods, spreads, trips, and settings are stored on your device. There is no cloud sync for those records. Losing your device or removing its app data may result in losing your records. A purchase recovery email restores account access, not a backup of local fishing records.
You can delete the service account in Settings, then Data Sharing. See our account deletion page for help. Account deletion does not remove local fishing records or cancel a store subscription.
Your 14 Day Trial
Depth Vector offers a 14 day trial of its paid features. The app shows when the trial is active and when it ends. When it ends, you can keep using the free version or choose to purchase paid access.
The trial does not automatically enroll you in a paid subscription or charge you when it ends. A purchase requires you to separately choose a paid option and confirm it through the store.
You can claim an extra 14 days at no charge through the end of May 1, 2027 (Central Time). No purchase, feedback, or optional data sharing is required. The extra 14 days start when you claim the extension. An extension claimed by the deadline remains active for its full 14 days, even if that runs past May 1. After May 1, the extension offer is no longer available. An extension does not authorize a purchase.
After trial or paid access ends, you can keep using the free version. Expiration alone does not delete your saved records.
What Stays Free
You can build and save rods, set up your gear, start and use trips, and use all other app features for free. Only the result box for finding line out, lead out, or ball depth requires an active trial or paid access. Without that access, the result box is locked. Everything else remains available.
Purchases And Subscriptions
Before you confirm a purchase, the store purchase screen shows what is included, the price in your currency, the access period, and whether the purchase renews. Review that information before confirming. Apple or Google processes the payment; Depth Vector does not receive your payment card number.
If you choose a subscription, it renews automatically at the disclosed price and interval unless you cancel through the store before renewal. You can manage or cancel it through the app’s Manage Subscription link or your Apple App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting the app or your service account does not cancel a subscription.
Cancellation ordinarily stops future renewal while access continues through the paid period. The store’s terms and applicable law govern exceptions, refunds, and any immediate cancellation rights. You can restore eligible purchases from Membership using the appropriate store and recovery accounts.
Optional Sharing
You can choose whether to share app usage or tuning observations in Settings, then Data Sharing. The Privacy Policy explains what is sent and how to change your choices. Merely accepting these terms does not opt you into optional sharing.
Availability And Other Services
Features that use online services, including purchase verification and weather, depend on connectivity and provider availability. Weather information can be delayed or inaccurate. Store and service provider terms may also apply.
We may update the app to fix problems or improve it. We will provide notice of material changes to these terms or paid access as required by law. Changes do not remove rights you already have under applicable consumer law.
Warranties And Responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as available, without a promise that calculated depth will match actual lure depth or that the service will be uninterrupted or free of errors. We disclaim implied warranties only where the law permits, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement.
To the extent permitted by law, Depth Vector is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service, including lost profits or lost data. These terms do not exclude liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, or any injury, loss, warranty, remedy, or responsibility that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
Ending Use
You may stop using the service at any time. We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address unlawful use, serious misuse, or a threat to the service or other people, subject to applicable law and any notice or remedy it requires.
Ownership provisions and other terms that must continue to resolve an existing matter survive termination. Any applicable refund or consumer rights remain available.
Store Terms And Consumer Rights
For apps obtained through Apple, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to the app license unless a different valid license is supplied through the store. These service terms do not replace mandatory store terms or statutory rights.
Nothing here takes away consumer rights that cannot be waived under the law that applies to you.
